September 16, 2020: Amidst the Covid19 pandemic, the people of Guwahati are getting ready to worship Lord Viswakarma on Thursday. However, this time, the Mahalaya too be observed the same day ushering the Durga Puja.

As the people are gearing up for the two religious occasions, the Kamrup administration has issued certain rules for the devotees.

Only 3 people are allowed together to visit a puja mandap. There shal not be not more than 15 persons at a Puja pandal at a time. Besides, the pujas will offer packed dry prasad only in stead of khichdi.

Informing this, Kamrup Metrol DC Biswajit Pegu appealed to the people to maintain all the Covid health protocols. For Mahalaya too, the same rules will be applicable.

The DC said that the number of Durga Puja pandals will be reduced drastically due to the pandemic situation.
