June 28, 2020: Due to the rising number of COVID-19 positive cases in Assam - particularly in Guwahati - State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday announced 14 days lockdown in Guwahati and weekend lockdown in other towns of the state.

It may be stated that lockdown in Guwahati will start from 12 am tonight and will continue till July 12. As stated by the administration this time the lockdown will be a strict one in comparison to the previous.
As per the guidelines given by the administration, except pharmacies and hospitals everything else will remain close till the lockdown.
