January 1, 2021: The doctors and nurses of the state will receive the Covid-19 vaccine by March next.

Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma said, "The vaccines will arrive in Assam very soon and in all likelihood, our doctors and nurses will receive the vaccine between February and March."

Responding to a query on the vaccination dry run conducted by the health ministry this week, he said that the drill is to detect and plug any loophole in the vaccination machinery before the vaccination drive is launched.

The ministry is going to launch a nation-wide dry run from tomorrow.
