September 13, 2020: The Covid-19 pandemic has dampened the ViswaKarma Puja spirit of Guwahati. Unlike earlier years, this year there is less or no preparation seen for the puja.

Usually, Viswakarma Puja is organised at workshops, garages, offices, factories etc. However, there's still no clarity on whether the puja to be permitted due to Covid-19.

The Viswakarma Puja at Nilachal Hill, the only one in the world, will keep the puja limited with the rituals only.

The Covid-19 has affected the idol makers too because of the minimum or no demand for the idols.

The Viswakarma Puja is to be celebrated on September 17.
