May 13, 2020: The number of COVID-19 cases in Assam have risen to 79 as 15 persons tested positive in Guwahati. All the positive patients had earlier come in contact with positive patient Mungroo Sahani from Fancy Bazaar, Guwahati on Wednesday.

State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, "Alert ~ 15 persons are tested #COVID19 in Kamrup Metro. All are related to patient from Guwahati's Fancy Bazaar, who tested recently. All under quarantine and please dont panic."

Active cases of COVID-19 in the state are now 37 and 39 were discharged.

It may be stated that positive cases for COVID-19 were reported so far from Golaghat, Nalbari, Morigaon, Goalpara, Dhubri, South Salmara, Kamrup (Metro), Kamrup, Karimganj, Lakhimpur, Cachar, Hailakandi, Bongaigaon, Jorhat districts.
