September 14, 2020: Its official. The new party floated by the All Assam Students Union (AASU) and the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad has been named Asom Jatoya Parishad.

The formal announcement was made by the chief convenors Dr Krishnagopal Bhattacharya and Basanta Deka. The new party will be formally launched before the 2021 assembly polls. Assam First, Always, and Ever will be the motto of the new party.

The party will visit every household of the state and initially the party will build its strength in 25 districts. The organisational activities will be completed by October 30. The chief convenors informed that leaders of both AASU and AJYCP will join the party.

Former minister Jagadish Bhuyan will be the coordinator of the party and the first convention will be held in November. The decisions on the flag and the constitution will be decided later on.
