August 16, 2020: From Monday, city Buses will again ply on Guwahati roads. Moreover, Guwahati residents will be able to enjoy a restriction-free life in the evening till as late as 9 PM.



The new UNLOCK 3.0 guidelines, relaxing the lockdown restrictions will come into force from Monday. The Government on Thursday issued the fresh guideline on additional relaxation of lockdown restrictions in Guwahati and across Assam. The guidelines, named UNLOCK 3.0 was scheduled to come into force from 5 AM on Sunday, but as there is total lockdown on Sunday, it will be effective from a day later. .





As per the guideline: 1) All permitted activities mentioned in earlier orders shall continue to be allowed between 5 AM and 9 PM from Monday to Friday.



2) Restriction of one side of the street is withdrawn.



3) Inter-district movement will now be allowed with 50% seating capacity from Monday to Friday.



4) City buses are allowed subject to maintenance of Covid-19 protocols and social distancing and with 50% capacity. The same will be applicable to other public transport.



5) The Night curfew timing has been changed to 9:30 PM to 5 AM from present 6 PM.



6) Total lockdown on Saturday and Sunday at any time all over the state.



7) Social/Political/Sports/Entertainment/Academic/Religious functions and other large congregations numbering more than 50 persons shall remain prohibited.



8) Cinema halls, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars, auditoriums, assembly halls and similar places of public gatherings shall remain closed.



9) Wearing of face cover is compulsory in public places, in workplaces and public transport etc and any violation will attract a fine of Rs 1000 for the first offence.



10) Spitting in public places, consumption of tobacco and liquor products shall be strictly prohibited.





Meanwhile, violation of weekend lockdown norms were noticed at several places in Guwahati on Sunday. At Ganeshguri, some fruit vendors opened their shops while in some other places, vegetable and fish sellers were seen doing business amidst the lockdown.
