October 30, 2020: The state on Friday remembered the victims of the serial blasts on October 30, 2008 in Guwahati and parts of lower Assam.



The Kamrup Metro administration organised a programme under the Ganeshguri flyover to pay tributes to the victims. The memorial programme was attended by minister Sidhdharth Bhattacharya, MP Queen Oja and district administration and police officials. The family members of the victims and injured persons too attended the programme. While remembering their dear one, many relatives of the victims broke down.



The Lawyers' Association of Guwahati too paid tributes to their colleagues who lost lives in the deadly blast. Separate programmes were organised by other organisations too to pay tributs to the ill-fated persons who were killed in the serial blasts.



On October 30, 2008, 10 serial blasts had rocked Pan Bazar, Fancy Bazar and Ganeshguri, Barpeta Road, Bongaigaon and Kokrajhar. While 81 people including 41 in Guwahati lost their loves, 470 were left injured.
