August 19, 2020: The All Assam Students Union and the Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad have formed an advisory committee to suggest the forming of a new political party.



The leaders of both the organisations on Wednesday addressed a joint media conference to announce this. The proposed advisory committee will be Dr Nagen Saikia, Dr Arup Kr Dutta, Ranjit Sekhar Mooshahari, Jahnu Barua, Dr Krishnagopal Bhattacharya, Basanta Deka, Dhiren Saikia, Ali Haidar Laskar, Rana Changmai, Abu Sahid, Rafikuddin Ahmed, Sanjay Kr Tanti, Prithviraj Tanti, Surjya Thaosen and Hussain Ahmed Laskar, Pranabjyoti Saikia and Pradip Koch. The committee will have Lurinjyoti Gogoi and Palash Changmai as coordinators.





The organisations will decide their future actions based on the committee's suggestions. AASU Adviser Dr Samujjwal Kr Bhattacharya said that whatever be the suggestions of the committee, AASU and AJYCP will always remain as non-political organisations.
