August 31, 2020: If you are planning to step out of your home without wearing your mask, think twice. For the Guwahati Police is keeping a watch on you.

After chief secretary Kumar Sanjay Krishna's warning to strictly enforce the wearing of masks in Guwahati, the police were seen since Monday morning strictly enforcing the chief secretary's order. Police imposed fine of Rs 1000 on many people who were found without masks.

The number of Covid cases in Guwahati is rising everyday. On Sunday itself, 453 fresh cases were reported in Guwahati. The city has recorded highest death toll in the state. In view of this, the chief secretary had warned that if the Guwahatians fail to behave responsibly, lockdown could be re-imposed in the city.
