November 12, 2020: Communication Strategies have to spur Societal awareness on Covid precaution for all in ecosystem including Orphans, experts opined in a Webinar organised by Press Information Bureau, Guwahati on the topic 'Covid precaution awareness among Orphans' here today. Experts from Industry fraternity along with academicians deliberated and discussed about the Covid precaution awareness from academic and policy perspective.



Ms Swagata Paul, Entrepreneur and Beauty Pageant winner Mrs India East(IAB-2019) said that a progressive society could develop and grow with a development which includes all in the societal ecosystem. She said that such WIN-WIN scenarios in the value-system of development and growth are possible with concomitant progress of all. She said in this context, the trying scenario of Covid calls for all to be work sincerely in Covid precaution awareness including that of Orphans. She said that Orphans have the talent and the mettle to make a difference in the society.



In the discussion, talking about the provisos in Indian Constitution, Abdur Rahman Mallick, Advocate Delhi High Court said that an encouraging and salubrious environment helps Orphans to be a vital component in the growth and progress of the nation.



Ms Priyadarshini, Psychologist said the dynamics of the public information awareness is leading to better societal ecosystem with growing appreciation of all in the value-system. She said that Orphans are with qualities which could be leveraged for the betterment of society. She said in this Covid scenario, listening to their issues and finding solution would help to tackle some of their issues. She opined that it is pertinent to talk about those issues and there might be scenarios where Orphans live, are very congested and in that parlance, it is vital that awareness about Covid precaution including that of social distance and regular sanitisation is of importance. She said that Orphans have to be educated about the changing scenarios related to Covid so that they are more informed in their decision making and help in their daily activities.



Dr. Lopamudra Datta, Principal, Guru Nanak Institute of Pharmaceutical Science and Technology said that Covid precaution awareness is a continual endeavour, particularly for children in schools. She said that educative awareness would help, while one has to be sensitive to the cognitive development of the children in the process of making them aware.



The informative and knowledge webinar was planned and coordinated by Shri Samrat Bandyopadhyay, Joint Director (M & C), PIB, Guwahati. Senior officers of PIB were present in webinar. Shri Pallav Chakravorty, Deputy Director, PIB welcomed the experts as the webinar delved into details on  the various aspects of the topic such as Covid information management including in the arena of health, socio-economic, growth and development, among others. The interactive Webinar has enthusiastic participation of students, academicians and industrial fraternity of Assam as they said that this information cum knowledge Webinar would help them in informed decision making and to be aware about the Covid precaution.



Along with students, eminent journalists and other government senior officials from Doordarshan Guwahati, Regional Outreach Bureau, Guwahati, All India Radio Guwahati were also present on the occasion.
