October 31, 2020: The air passengers coming to Assam will not have to undergo Covid test on arrival here if they get themselves tested in their point of origin 72 hours prior to their journey.

October 31, 2020: The air passengers coming to Assam will not have to undergo Covid test on arrival here if they get themselves tested in their point of origin 72 hours prior to their journey.



This was announced by Assam health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma on Saturday. However, they must have to produce RT-PCR test report on arrival.



Besides, the test will also not be mandatory for the children below 10-years.



Anyone going out of Assam for 24 hours will not have to get tested.



Foreign diplomats, members of multi-national agencies like UNESCO and WHO are also exempted from testing on arrival.



The officers of central agencies like CBI, ED, IT etc. on covert mission to Assam and the Northeast are also exempted.
