Informing the development, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted,” Alert ~ 814 new #COVID19 cases detected today, 588 from Guwahati City



Numbers are not encouraging. Self-control is critical.



Total cases 13336



Recovered 8329



Active cases 4988



Deaths 16

It may be added that the total COVID-19 cases now stand at 13336 in Assam out of which 4988 are active cases whereas 8329 have recovered and 3 have migrated. 



On the other hand the death toll has risen to 16 in the state with another death on Tuesday.  The the deceased was identified as Dhadaram Mura - a resident of Kaliabor who was undergoing treatment at GMCH.



Currently, lockdown has been imposed in Guwahati city along with Dima Hasao District and areas falling under municipal board in Jorhat.
