November 20, 2020: Unknown miscreants looted huge cash from Punjab National Bank branch at Amayapur in Nalbari Friday morning.

Eye witnesses say the incident happened at around 10.30 AM when 4 motor cycle-borne youths carrying arms entered into the bank. Before entering, they fired several rounds injuring a youth outside the bank.

They then held the manager and other employees of the bank at gunpoint and decamped with all the cash in the bank.

According to the bank employees, at least Rs. 60 lakh were looted. They further said that four youths entered inside while 4 others waited on bikes outside the bank premises. After looting the cash, all of them fled from the scene.

Meanwhile, a youth was injured in the firing incident and was rushed to Guwahati for better treatment.

Police have recovered an empty cartridge and have started investigation.
