Aug 6, 2020: A dreaded dacoit escaped from Singimari Covid Care Centre on Thursday. The escaped dacoit, identified as Samnul ALi alias Mela, is a prisoner of Mangaldoi jail.

Ali was tested Covid positive on July 31 and was shifted to the hospital along with 34 other inmates from the jail.

The prisoner escaped by breaking the window grill of the hospital room in the wee hours of Thursday.

Search is on to nab him, but till Thursday evening, he was still traceless. He was involved in many dacoity cases including several ATM theft cases.
