Indian Railways to operate 196 pairs of “Festival Special” trains

October 15, 2020: To clear the festive rush of passenger, Ministry of Railways has approved running of 196 pairs (392 trains) of “Festival Special” services over Indian Railways.

October 15, 2020: To clear the festive rush of passenger, Ministry of Railways has approved running of 196 pairs (392 trains) of “Festival Special” services over Indian Railways. These special trains will be operated from October 20 and November 30. The fare for these Festival Special services will be that applicable for special trains.

In NFR portion the following “Festival special” trains will run:

1.            02517 / 02518 Kolkata – Guwahati- Kolkata Tri-weekly special express

2.            02505 / 02506 Kamakhya – Anand Vihar daily special express

3.            02513 / 02514 Guwahati – Secunderabad weekly special express

4.            05611 / 05612 Guwahati – Silchar – Guwahati Tri-weekly special express

5.            02343 / 02344 Sealdah – New Jalpaiguri – Sealdah daily special express

6.            03141 / 03142 SEaldah – New Alipurduar – Sealdah daily special express

7.            09601 / 09602 Udaipur – New Jalpaiguri – Udaipur weekly special express

Running of these festival specials is expected to reduce the rush of passengers during the current festive season.

There will be no unreserved coaches in the train. Passengers must download Aarogya Setu App, and strictly observe social distancing both at the station and on trains. Wearing of face covers at the entry and during travel is a must. Only asymptomatic passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the Railway station/board the train. Date of operations of these special trains will be notified shortly, informed NF Railway.
