August 20, 2020: Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has distributed 201 appointment letters to staff nurses of Lakhimpur Medical College and Rural Serve Appointment to 157 doctors at GMCH auditorium on Thursday.

The appointment letters were handed over in the presence of MP Sri Pradan Baruah and MLA Dr Ranoj Pegu.

Addressing a press meet, Sarma said that every year, at least two Medical Colleges will start. This year it will start with Diphu and Lakhimpur Medical College following Dhubri and Nagaon Medical College from next year.

There has been a decission of constructing four more Medical Colleges in Biswanath Chariali, Charaideo, Goalpara and Karimganj, he added.
