July 15, 2020: COVID-19 cases have been on the rise in Guwahati as 627 new positive cases were detected in the city alone on Tuesday.

Informing this Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted,”Alert ~ 859 new #COVID19 ve+ patients in Assam, 627 in Guwahati alone.

Currently the city is under lockdown till 19 July, 2020. 

It may be mentioned that currently in Assam the total number of COVID-19 cases stands at 18666 - out of which 6444 are active whereas 12173 of them have recovered successfully.

On the other hand, the death toll has risen to 46 in the state with six deaths on Tuesday.
