July 09, 2020: The number of COVID-19 cases is rampantly on the rise in Guwahati as 423 more tested positive in the city alone on Wednesday. 
Informing the development, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted,” Alert ~ 696 new #COVID19 cases detected today, 423 from Guwahati City alone.
People are expected to follow precautions strictly.
Total cases 14032
Recovered 8726
Active cases 5281
Deaths 22

The total COVID-19 cases now stand at 14032 out of which 5281 are active cases whereas 8726 have recovered and 3 have migrated.
On the other hand the death toll has risen to 22 in the state with 6 deaths on Wednesday.
It may be added that currently lockdown has been imposed in Guwahati city along with Dima Hasao, Jorhat and Golghat.
