August 1, 2020: The total number of COVID-19 cases in Assam has reached 41726 with 1457 new cases confirmed on Saturday.
Reportedly, 27161 tests were done in last 24 hrs out of which 1457 cases were detected. Out of new confirmed cases 275are from Kamrup (M), 136 from Dibrugarh and 116 from Sonitpur.
Informing this Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Alert ~ 1457 new #COVID19 cases detected out of 27161 tests conducted in last 24 hrs. Our positivity rate continues to be low at 5.36%

There are currently 10,180 active cases in the state whereas 31442 patients have been discharged. Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 101 with three new deaths reported on Saturday.
