Among the four new cases, two cases have been reported from Guwahati and one each from Sonitpur and Sivasagar.



State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said one patient was detected at Kalapahar quarantine centre and another was detected at Fatashil Ambari in Guwahati.



A young boy hailing from Sivasagar district who is at Jorhat quarantine centre tested positive for COVID-19 and another patient from Sonitpur district.



"On May 16 NIGHT, 4 more #COVID19 cases were detected - 2 from Guwahati, 1 each from Sonitpur & Sivasagar, taking total cases to 95; active 50. In view of developing situation, I urge elderly (65 ) & children below 10 to strictly stay inside, unless very important," Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted.

Out of the 95 cases in the state, two Covid-19 patients had died and 41 others were discharged from hospitals and have 50 active coronavirus positive cases.



Also, two patients migrated to Bihar and West Bengal.



Earlier on Friday night two persons tested positive in Kamrup Metro, related to Aloo godown case are in quarantine now.



Till now positive cases for COVID-19 have been reported so far from Golaghat, Nalbari, Morigaon, Goalpara, Dhubri, South Salmara, Kamrup (Metro), Kamrup, Karimganj, Lakhimpur, Cachar, Hailakandi, Bongaigaon, Jorhat and Sonitpur district.
