July 22, 2020: The number of COVID-19 cases has crossed 26000 mark in Assam with 1680 new cases confirmed on Tuesday.



The total number of COVID-19 cases in the state stands at 26772 - out of which 8672 are active whereas 18033 of them have recovered successfully. The death toll has risen to 64 in the state.



Reportedly, out of 1680 new positive cases, 167 cases are from Jorhat, 159 cases are from Cachar and 570 cases are from Guwahati.



Informing this Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Alert ~ 1680 new #COVID19 patients detected in Assam on July 21.Guwahati reported 570 cases. (Jorhat167, Cachar 159)



With 18152 tests carried out in 24 hours, our positivity rate is 9.2%.
