September 8, 2020: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal assured the traders community of Jorhat that their problems would be addressed to pragmatically. He held a meeting with the members of Chambers of Commerce of Jorhat district on Monday and discussed with them several problems they faced in the post lockdown period of COVID-19 pandemic.

During the meeting the Chambers raised several problems that afflicted them in the aftermath of the lockdown period. Responding to Mariani Chamber of Commerce request, the Chief Minister said that steps will be taken to increase the frequency of the buses between Jorhat and Mariani town.

He also said that in spite of COVID-19 pandemic, the economic activities of the district should be continued and he advocated that the fight against COVID-19 must coexist with the economic activities.
