August 11, 2020: With 2,900 new COVID-19 cases reported in Assam on Monday. Around 61,737 positive cases have been reported in Assam so far.

August 11, 2020: With 2,900 new COVID-19 cases reported in Assam on Monday, the positivity rate in the state stood at 4.71 per cent. Around 61,737 positive cases have been reported in Assam so far, including 42,325 discharges, 19,258 active cases and 151 deaths.



"2,900 COVID-19 cases detected out of 60,425 tests yesterday. The positivity rate is at 4.79 per cent. Total number of cases now at 61,737 including 42,325 discharges, 19,258 active cases and 151 deaths," tweeted Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma.





The state government from Monday have provided COVID-19 patients preferring to stay in home isolation a pulse oximeter and first-line supportive medicine completely free in Guwahati. The Tele Medicine service for COVID-19 patients through 104 state has also been activated.

Meanwhile, the health department has issued a new SOP for air passengers. As per the SoP, any air passenger who departs from Assam within 72 hours of arrival need not undergo quarantine. But they will have to provide the return ticket and undergo the Rapid Antigen Test with negative results at the airport.





If found symptomatic, such passengers will have to undergo the RT-PCR testy will have to remain in isolation until the test result is declared. If a visitor is found overstaying beyond the 72-hours, panel action will be taken against them
