Assam: COVID-19 tally crosses 11000 mark with 1202 new cases; 777cases from Guwahati alone

July 5, 2020: Assam reported its highest single day spike of COVID-19 cases with 1202 cases on Saturday midnight, taking the total COVID-19 positive cases to 11001 in the state. Out of 1202 positive cases, 777 cases are from Guwahati alone.



Out the total cases, currently there are 4657 active cases in the state whereas 6327 of them have recovered and three have migrated. The death toll due to coronavirus has risen to 14.



Taking to Twitter Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday midnight tweeted, “Alert ~ In the biggest spike ever, Assam on 4th July reported 1202 cases, 777 of these from Guwahati City alone. Time for all of us to be extra vigilant.

However, on Saturday, 416 more patients have been discharged from various civil, district & model hospitals in Assam.
