July 08, 2020: The number of COVID-19 cases has crossed 13000 mark in Assam with 814 new cases detected on Tuesday. 

Informing the development, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted,” Alert ~ 814 new #COVID19 cases detected today, 588 from Guwahati City

Numbers are not encouraging. Self-control is critical.

Total cases 13336

Recovered 8329

Active cases 4988

Deaths 16

The total COVID-19 cases now stand at 13336 out of which 4988 are active cases whereas 8329 have recovered and 3 have migrated.

On the other hand the death toll has risen to 16 in the state with another death on Tuesday.  The the deceased was identified as Dhadaram Mura - a resident of Kaliabor who was undergoing treatment at GMCH.

It may be added that currently lockdown has been imposed in Guwahati city along with Dima Hasao District and areas falling under municipal board in Jorhat.
