December 13, 2020: UPPL Chief Pramod Boro will replace Hagrama Mohilari as the new chief executive member(CEM) of the Bodo Territorial Council.



Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal formally announced Boro’s elevation to the top post of the council.



Boro will take oath at Kokrajhar on December 15 in presence of a host of dignitaries.



The former All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) president will head the UPPL-Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP)-Gana Suraksha Party(GSP) government for a period of 5 years.



Earlier in the day, Boro and GSP Chief Naba Sarania met minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, BJP national general secretary Dilip Saikia and Assam unit president Ranjit Dass in the wee hours on Sunday and discussed about government formation modalities.



Later, Boro was chosen leader of the coaliation in a meeting of the newly-elected members of UPPL, BJP and GSP.



While UPPL bagged 12 seats, BJP won 9 and GSP 1. Ruling BPF managed to win 17 seats to emerge as the single largest party.
