December 13, 2020: In an interesting turn of events, Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) supremo Hagrama Mohilary on Sunday claimed that his party will be forming the government in BTC for the fourth consecutive time with the help of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Taking to reporters in Kokrajhar a day after the results of the BTC poll were announced, Mohilary said that he has already talked to minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in this regard and a formal decision could be taken by Sunday afternoon.

“The situation before poll and now are different. Our alliance with BJP will continue. Whether the BJP takes anyone else along with them is up to them,” said Mohilary.

In Guwahati, Himanta Biswa Sarma said early Sunday morning that he has forgotten all political bitterness with Hagrama and it has been taken over by a bond of friendship.

In the results, BPF emerged as the single largest party with 17 seats, 4 short of the majority mark.

UPPL won 12; BJP won 9 while Congresss and Gana Suraksha Party won one each.
