October 8, 2020: The eviction of illegal occupants in Kaziranga National Park will be conducted again by the administration. This comes after the order given by the Gauhati High Court.

Earlier, eviction was done at Bandar Dubi and Deusur Sang in 2016 whereas, this time the eviction drives will be conducted in Haldhibari and Panbari area, as per the notice.

As per reports, more than thirty two families have been sent notice by the administration regarding the eviction drive in the area.

It may be stated that despite court’s order, people have been continuing to encroach the protected area.

Previously in 2015 the Gauhati High Court had given a notice regarding the eviction drive, which triggered a very strong reaction among the indigenous people in the region.
