September 9, 2020: A 9-year-old girl  was allegedly raped by three persons at Dihakho in Dima Hasao.

As per reports, the incident happened on  August 24 but was not reported earlier  to the police.

After getting information about the incident on Tuesday night, a team of students organizations and NGO'S from Kalachand area visited the area to find out the truth.

It is alleged that three Railway employees have ganged rape the minor when she came to collect drinking water.

Reportedly, among the three one of them was a Station Master of Dihakho train station, another was a Railway police and a 4th grade employee.

It is said that the three were taking bath on a village stream when the girl came to collect water, finding her alone the three ganged raped her.

One of the accused Promod Kumar was apprehended by the police this morning but the two managed to escape.

The suspected accused are  Jitendar Singh, Promod Kumar and Ashok Kumar. An FIR against the three  has been lodged last night at Langting police station.

According to the victim's mother, they are poor and were afraid to go to the police to report about the incident earlier, and were no proper communication to go outside easily.

It may be noted that the area is so remote that the village is not connected with road and is around 75 KM from Haflong town.
