November 6, 2020: A new political controversy has erupted over alleged pro-Pakistan slogans shouted at Silchar airport on Friday.

A video has gone viral where some AIUDF workers outside the Silchar airport were heard shouting "Pakistan Zindabad" slogan. They were waiting for the arrival of AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal.

Soon after the video went viral, BJP was quick to attack the party. BJP spokesman Rupam Goswami questioned why such slogans were shouted during Ajmal's visit and not when they visited. "This shows that they have not been able to be free from their attachment with Pakistan during the independence. " He also questioned the Congress' stand on it as the two parties are allies now.

However, the AIUDF leadership refuted the allegation and said that it was "Aziz Khan Zindabad" and not "Pakistan Zindabad." Aziz  Khan is the South Karimganj MLA from the party.
