October 9, 2020: As part of the country wide special awareness amongst drive about measures to restrict the spread of COVID-19 virus, several programmes were held throughout NFR on Thursday.

October 9, 2020: As part of the country wide special drive to further enhance the awareness amongst common people about measures to restrict the spread of COVID-19 virus, several programmes were held throughout NFR on Thursday.



Earlier the special campaign was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from New Delhi in the morning. Later railways minister Piyush Goyal interacted with General Managers and other senior officials of entire Indian Railways through video conferencing, administered the Pledge for COVID Awareness and described about the need for boosting awareness level among the masses to control the deadly virus. He appealed to make it a mass movement among Rail Parivar and rail users.



As part of the programme pledge were taken by railway officials all over the jurisdiction of NFR. General Manager, NFR Sanjive Roy administered the pledge at NFR, HQ, Maligaon in presence of staff and officers of HQ. Similar programme was also held at all the five divisional HQs located at Tinsukia, Lumding, Rangiya, Alipurduar & Katihar and important railway establishments and Stations. Banners were placed at various prominent locations to create awareness amongst everyone. Thousands of railway officials took the pledge to take all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of this deadly virus as well as to encourage others to follow COVID Appropriate Behaviours.
