May 29, 2020: Assam records its highest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases as 30 persons tested positive on Friday, taking total number of coronavirus cases to 910.



Reportedly, out of 30 new cases, 16 from Golaghat, 6 Karimganj, 2 each from Lakhimpur, Cachar, Hailakandi and Karbi Anglong.



Informing this State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, "Alert ~ 30 new cases of #COVID19 16 Golaghat, 6 Karimganj, 2 Lakhimpur, 2 Cachar, 2 Hailakandi, 2 Karbi Anglong."



"Total cases 910, Recovered 103, Active cases 800, Deaths 04," he added.



The numbers of deaths due to the coronavirus are four and three patients have migrated from the state.
