September 9, 2020: The total number of COVID-19 cases in Assam has reached 130823 with 2579 new cases confirmed on Tuesday.
Reportedly, 34462 tests were done in the last 24 hrs out of which 2579 cases were detected. Out of these, 729 cases are from Guwahati alone followed by 160 from Dibrugarh, 146 from Jorhat and 110 from Dhemaji.
Informing this Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “Alert ~ 2579 #COVID cases detected today out of 34462 tests done in last 24 hours

On the other hand death toll rose to 378 with 8 more deaths on Tuesday.
