November 23, 2020: Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal thanked the all the officials and concerned authorities associated with the Assam Police Sub Inspector recruitment examination including Dibrugarh University, chairman of the State Level Police Recruitment Board and DGP, district civil and police administration for successfully holding the recruitment test. The Chief Minister was also appreciative of the people for their help and support in this regard.



In a statement, the Chief Minister said that the State government earlier cancelled the recruitment test for Sub Inspectors in Assam Police as soon as the leakage of question paper came to its notice and instructions were given to the police to take strict action against those involved in the question paper leakage. He said that the State government announced to reconduct the recruitment exam soon and accordingly successfully held the test. The Chief Minister further stated that the Assam Government from the very beginning has been taking steps to ensure that candidates get employment on the basis of their merit only and during last four and a half years gave appointment to more 80 thousand youths purely on merit. The Chief Minister said that since the very beginning the State government has been fighting against corruption unwaveringly. He said that the State government has always given priority to ensure that candidates get employment on the basis of their merit only and this approach will continue in future also.



The SI recruitment exam was conducted on Sunday in 150 centers across Assam by the Dibrugarh University. Around 65 thousand candidates downloaded their admit cards till last night.
