October 27, 2020: Amidst reports of unabated Burmese supari syndicate from Myanmar into the Northeast, the Hailakandi police have arrested two persons and seized huge amount of illegal Burmese supari and a truck full of cigarettes at Katlicherra Bypass on Tuesday.



Reportedly, at around 2 am, the Hailakandi police seized 46 cartons of Myanmar made Cigarettes and 15 bags of betel nut having value of Rs.20 lakh and arrested two persons.



The duo has been identified as Samim Ahmed Talukdar and Jaynal Ahmed Talukdar.



As per reports, the truck bearing registration number AS 11DC 7173 were loaded in Myanmar and were proceeding for Hailakandi through Mizoram.



It may be mentioned that the duo will be sent to the court for further investigation in this regard.
