July 16, 2020: The flood situation in Assam continues to be grimed as the floodwaters inundated new areas and affected nearly 36 lakh people across 30 districts.

July 16, 2020: The flood situation in Assam continues to be grimed as the floodwaters inundated new areas and affected nearly 48 lakh people across 30 districts.



According to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority, over 48,07,111 people have been affected and 66 people have died so far.



The NDRF, SDRF teams and district administration have continuing to rescue people from flood affected areas.



Following incessant rains the water levels of Brahmaputra River is also flowing above danger level mark in several districts.



The floodwaters have damaged several roads, bridges and washed away many portions in different parts of the state.



Meanwhile, the flood has also affected  wild animals in Kaziranga National Park and Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary this year so far.
