April 30, 2020: The number of COVID-19 cases in Assam has risen to 41 as four persons from Bongaigaon district tested positive on Thursday.



State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, "Alert ~ Four more #COVID positive cases are reported from Bongaingaon district. The number of #COVID19 patients in Assam now stands at 41. (29 are discharged, 1 death, so active hospital cases 11.)"



Positive cases for COVID-19 have reported so far from Golaghat, Nalbari, Morigaon, Goalpara, Dhubri, South Salmara, Kamrup (Metro), Kamrup, Karimganj, Lakhimpur, Cachar, Hailakandi, Bongaigaon districts.



Of the total 41 cases, one COVID-19 positive patient namely Sri Faizul Haque Barbhuyan died on April 10.
