April 23, 2020: The number of COVID-19 cases in Assam has risen to 35 as one man from Bilasipara in Dhubri district tested positive on Thursday.



Informing this, State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, "Alert - A man from Bilasipara, Dhubri has tested #COVID positive. He has a history of being in touch with another patient, who was part of Athgaon Majid congregation in Guwahati. The number of patients is now 35".



The majority of the cases so far reported positive in Assam are linked to the Nizamuddin Markaz apart from one patient from Guwahati who has no connection to the Nizamuddin Markaz.



Of the total 35 cases, one COVID-19 positive patient namely Sri Faizul Haque Barbhuyan died on April 10.
