April 13, 2020: The number of COVID-19 cases in Assam has risen to 30 as a man from Dhubri tested positive on Monday.



Informing this Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, "Another person from Dhubri, connected with Tablighi Jamaat meet at Nizamuddin Markaz, has been found COVID19 positive. The total number of COVID19 patients in Assam now stands at 30."



It is to be mentioned that majority of the cases so far reported positive in Assam are rooted to the Nizamuddin Markaz apart from one patient from Guwahati who has no link to the Nizamuddin Markaz.



Assam has reported 30 positive cases for COVID-19 so far including nine cases from Golaghat district, four each from Nalbari and Morigaon districts, three each from Goalpara and Dhubri district and one each from South Salmara, Kamrup (Metro), Kamrup, Karimganj, Lakhimpur, Cachar and Hailakandi districts.



Meanwhile, one COVID-19 positive patient namely Sri Faizul Haque Barbhuyan died on April 10.
