July 27, 2020: The Covid-19 death toll of Assam has gone up to 80 till Monday including a senior doctor and a forest official died of Covid 19 in the state.



Dr GMS Choudhury, retired professor of surgery department of Assam Medical College Hospital in Dibrugarh died after being infected with Covid19 recently. He was admitted at the AMCH and was given Plasma therapy. However, he breathed his last on Sunday evening.



Joi Singh Bey, a DFO of Karbi Anglong too had died of Covid-19. The officer, who was being treated at the GMCH, passed away at around 10 PM on Sunday night.



With his death, the state's death toll has gone up to 80.



In Doomdooma, the death of a 45-year old woman has been reported. She was suffering from fever for last few days and had died on Monday morning. She was tested Covid positive when  antigen test was done after her death.



Altogether 985 patients were discharged from hospital on Sunday.
