September 7, 2020: A total of 1537 fresh Covid-19 cases were detected in Assam on Sunday.

September 7, 2020: There is a major relief for the government and the health department as the number of new Covid-19 cases in Assam has come down to almost half of what it was in the previous few days.

A total of 1537 fresh Covid-19 cases were detected in Assam on Sunday. Of these, Kamrup M- 382; Hojai- 125 and Dibrugarh- 108.

With 8 more death on Sunday, the total death toll has gone up to 360.

On Sunday, 1763 patients were discharged leaving the total cases at 1,25,459. Of these, 96,823 are discharged and 28,273 are active cases.

On Sunday, 23,336 tests were done with a positivity rate of 6.58%. The number of fresh cases was very high in the last few days. On Saturday, it was 2698, 2891 on September 4, 3054 on September 3, 3555 on September 2 and 2684 on September 1.
