July 26, 2020: Two persons lost lives in Covid-19 in Assam in the last 24 hours. Altogether 1142 fresh Covid Positive cases were recorded in Assam on Sunday.

Smt Baisakhi Roy (53) from Tinsukia and Sri Birendra Shah (50) from Dibrugarh succumbed to their infections on Sunday. Both of them were admitted at AMCH, Dibrugarh, tweeted Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sharma.

Sharma later in another tweet informed that till 9 PM, 1142 COVID patients detected out of the 20,542 tests done in last 24 hours in the state.

Of these, Guwahati has 171, Kamrup has 188 and Darrang has 100 fresh cases.

He said that the low positivity rate of 5.55% is a good news.

With this, the total cases have gone up to 32,228. Out of this, 23,055 have recovered while 9,091 are active cases. With two deaths on Sunday, the number of death has gone up to 79.
