March 31, 2021: Don Bosco School hostel in Meghalaya’s Tura was declared as containment zone after 20 new COVID-19 cases were detected.



The hostel of Don Bosco School located at Lower Wadanang in Tura of West Garo Hills was turned into a containment zone on Monday.



According to reports, the 20 students who tested positive for COVID-19 are from the age group of 12-15 and asymptomatic.



Health officer of West Garo Hills district has shot off a letter to the Deputy Commissioner seeking extension of surveillance and contact tracing.





It maybe stated that this is the first major surge in COVID-19 cases in Meghalaya since lockdown norms were eased.
