July 26, 2020: In view of the rising COVID-19 positive cases in the state, Tripura government has announced a total lockdown in the state for three days starting Monday, said Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.



The complete shutdown will begin at 5 am on July 27 and last till 5 am on July 30, he said. This will be in continuation to the night curfew on July 26 and a formal order in this regard has been issued by Chief Secretary Manoj Kumar.





According to the Union Health Ministry, Tripura has reported 3,759 Covid-19 cases including 1,617 active cases, 2,131 recovered cases and 11 deaths so far.



While announcing the fresh curbs, the Chief Minister thanked people of the state for their cooperation during the earlier lockdowns and urged the public to extend the same assistance this time again. He also claimed that Tripura is dealing with the crisis in a far better manner than many other states in the country.
