Nagaland bypolls: 71.84 % polling recorded in two polling stations

November 8, 2020: In Nagaland, a total of 71.84  percent polling  has been recorded in  two polling stations of 8 Kipongya Ward ‘A’ Kiphire Town and 11-Singrep polling stations.

November 8, 2020: In Nagaland, a total of 71.84  percent polling  has been recorded in  two polling stations of 8 Kipongya Ward ‘A’ Kiphire Town and 11-Singrep polling stations under 60-Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituency. Re-poll called by the Election Commission in these two polling stations concluded peacefully.



In the repoll held on Saturday day in two polling stations under 60-Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituency, a total of 74.71 percent voters’ turnout was recorded in Polling station number 8-Kipongya Ward ‘A’ Kiphire Town. 11-Singrep Polling station recorded poll percentage of 69.48 percent. After the re-poll, 60-Pungro-Kiphire Assembly Constituency has now recorded a total of 91.57 percent voters’ turn out. While in Southern Angami-1 Assembly Constituency, the voters’ turn-out was 84.41 percent.



With this, a total of 89.34 poll percent has been recorded for the Bye- Election to 14-Southern Angami-1 and 60-Pungro Kiphire Assembly Constituencies.



Altogether 8 candidates including 4 major political parties (BJP, NDPP, NPF, and Congress) and 4 Independent are in the fray for the two Assembly Constituencies.



Counting of votes in these two Assembly Constituencies will take place on 10th of November.
