August 15, 2020: Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma on Saturday hoisted the tricolour on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day. At a function held with limited guests at Polo Grounds in Shillong. the CM also inspected the Guard of Honour.





On the occasion, he also announced the launching the Restart Meghalaya Mission. This mission comprises a series of interventions that will give a push to the different development activities that were brought to a standstill by COVID-19.





He said that in the Restart Meghalaya Mission, farming and farmers lie at the epicentre of our rejuvenation plan. Eith this, Meghalaya will move towards #Aatmanirbhar in the production and marketing of agricultural and allied products.





The Government acted swiftly to provide relief to over 10,000 such stranded citizens and transferred an amount of Rs 3,000 each to their bank accounts, he said.
