November 13, 2020: More reports have been emerging on the illegal transportation and modus operandi of coal transportation from Khleriat, Meghalaya.

Reportedly, inspector-in-charge of Umkian Police Station is emerging as the main key to the clandestine transportation with concurrence from Khleriat SP Deepak Kr Palecha.

It is to be added that one such coal-laden truck with registration number NL01AE-1974 was seized on Thursday night but no FIR has been registered in this case till now which clearly shows the complicity of police.

There are reports that many coal-laden trucks are kept hidden in different locations and no case is being registered against them as the police are allegedly in partnership with the illegal coal business.

Questions are rising, if such is the nexus on ground then how it will be humanely possible to control such an organized crime.

It has come to notice that around 150 illegally coal-laden trucks were moved just few days back with direct connivance of IC Umkiang and SP Khleriat with Danzil, Tiewfel and Bison operatives on the ground.

This large scale and organized loot is nothing but a grim reality of how the government is serious on this matter.

This report will be followed closely in coming days.
