November 5, 2020: Amid the ongoing border clash, Mizoram has alleged that Assam administration has burnt crops of its farmers along the border.

"Amid the ongoing border clash, our Agriculture Dept is lending full support to farmers at the border. 425 quintals of potato seeds provided to farmers in Kolasib and Mamit. Rs. 7 crores sanctioned by NABARD to develop cultivable lands at the border. I would like to condemn the actions of Cachar District Administration and Assam Police for destroying and burning crops and huts of farmers residing at the border. It is a despicable act to destroy a person's livelihood, " said Mizoram agriculture minister Pu C. Lalrinsanga.

Reacting to the allegation, Assam Forest Minister Parimal Suklabaidya said, "We encourage Mizoram to develop its agriculture but they should do it on their own soil. Even today their people are occupying 1.5 km of our land near the state border. We've been requesting them to go back."
