On Sunday, 45 new cases of COVID-19 have been detected out of 335 test results received. Of this, 23 are in Kohima, 14 in Dimapur and 8 in Mon district, informed Health minister S Pangnyu Phom.

Meanwhile, an 8-day total lockdown has started in Dimapur from Sunday. This comes after the Kohima district administration enforced a 7-day lockdown starting from July 25.

The government has imposed the strict restrictions in the two districts to enhance active surveillance and ensure comprehensive contact tracing, detection of suspected cases and implementation of isolation measures to contain the spread of novel coronavirus.
